Choose your Split to Solta ferry
The Split to Solta ferry takes you to Rogač, the island's main scheduled arrival port on the northern coast. The car ferry and passenger catamaran are different services with different journey times and ticket arrangements. Start by deciding whether you are travelling on foot or bringing a vehicle. Then match the crossing to your arrival in Split and the journey from Rogač to your accommodation.
For an independent stay, keep all three parts visible in your plan: mainland transport, sea crossing and island transport. If you prefer a day with visits already organised, there is also a guided island outing with a ferry ride. That is a different purchase from a scheduled ferry ticket. Our village comparison helps you choose where to head after landing.

Taxi and transfer from Split Airport (SPU)
Split Airport is in the Kaštela area towards Trogir. A taxi or prebooked private transfer can take you from SPU to Split port. Choose the ferry port as the mainland destination and allow separately for baggage collection, road traffic and the required arrival time at the pier. Summer traffic can delay the road journey, so a flight arrival and ferry departure should not be treated as a tight connection.
A private airport-to-port transfer suits travellers who want the mainland leg arranged around their flight and luggage. The crossing to Rogač and transport from Rogač to your island address are separate parts of the journey. Keep those arrangements alongside the transfer details.
The airport shuttle runs to Split's main bus station beside the ferry port and railway station. Its published fare is 10 EUR one way or 15 EUR return, with a direct journey estimate of about 30 minutes. These are the shuttle operator's undated published figures, rather than a taxi quotation or a connection guarantee. Public buses are another option; use the day's service information for stops and departure times.
Reserve your transfer from Split Airport (SPU) to Split Port in advance on Kiwitaxi.
Car ferry, passenger catamaran and tickets
The 2026 timetable gives line 636 a crossing time of 60 minutes. It carries vehicles as well as foot passengers, and ticket purchase reserves the selected departure. Arrive at the pier at least 45 minutes beforehand. The timetable has separate seasonal blocks; its high-summer pattern applies from 3 July to 30 August 2026, while spring and autumn have their own schedules.
In the 2026 car-ferry tariff, an adult single costs 5.70 EUR during the tariff season from 29 May to 27 September and 4.40 EUR outside it. A standard car with up to nine seats, up to 5 metres long and 2 metres high costs 23.50 EUR seasonally or 18.20 EUR outside the season. Passenger and vehicle fares are separate, so the car amount is not a total for everyone travelling inside it.
Passenger catamaran line 9601 connects Milna, Rogač and Split. The Split to Rogač section takes about 30 minutes in the 2026 timetable. It takes foot passengers rather than cars. Choose an actual outbound and return departure for your weekday instead of applying the car-ferry timetable to the catamaran.

Guided island day with a ferry ride
Pickup, the crossing and guided village visits form one organised island outing, with tastings in the all-inclusive upgrade.
An organised island visit with the crossing
The 8-hour guided island outing includes pickup, a ferry ride across the Split Channel and visits to Grohote, Donje Selo and Maslinica. It suits a day focused on island villages and guided visits. Tastings, carpaccio and a seafood lunch belong to the all-inclusive upgrade. Use the history guide for context on the places visited, or compare boat excursions if swimming stops matter more to you.
Onward travel from Rogač
Rogač is the arrival point, while Grohote is inland at the road junction linking the main island directions. Maslinica lies to the west; Stomorska is on the northeast coast. Island buses, taxis and rental options can form part of the onward journey. Match your accommodation address to the arrival time, particularly when travelling with bags or arriving late.
The local Šolta bus fare effective from 1 June 2026 is 1.50 EUR through a stored-value card, ticket office, online purchase or machine, and 3 EUR from the driver. It is valid for 60 minutes from first validation. Use the current timetable for your onward connection; a ferry arrival alone does not establish a bus departure.
Car rental and parking
Collecting a rental car at the mainland airport may suit an itinerary that also covers other coastal destinations. Obtain the rental company's permission for ferry carriage and use the car ferry for the island crossing. Check the vehicle dimensions against the fare category, and ask your accommodation about the actual final approach and parking arrangement.
Apply the same route planning to a scooter, with particular attention to road surfaces and luggage. Šolta has both road and gravel approaches to bays; a described car access is not permission to take every rental vehicle along it. Keep parking costs in your own confirmed arrangements rather than budgeting on an island-wide assumption.
Mainland arrival in Split
Use Split as the mainland connection and allow time to reach the correct pier. For a wider island overview, return to our Šolta guide before choosing your first day. Wind and sea conditions can affect departures, so consult current sailing information close to travel.
